What’s more interesting than the negative correlation to suicide is the negative correlation to VotedForBush and the positive correlation to population Density. So yes, in typically democratic urban areas where there is more crime associated with unemployment, a higher cost of living and resultant higher wages, there appears to be more young people searching for Tumblr.
The casual tumblr would certainly agree with this insight out of experience.
Fascinating tool, thanks for the post. It would be even more interesting to see a correlation matrix among the given factors (I’d guess that Density and VotedForBush are probably negative correlated, as are Longitude and VotedForBush supporting the so called “Coastal Elites” theory), but that’s an exercise for the student.
