Nickel Creek - “Spit On A Stranger”.  The self-proclaimed “progressive acoustic” trio moved well beyond their bluegrass roots into defining a fresh take on folk rock.  This uncharacteristic piece gives a glimpse into where they may go individually during their indefinite hiatus from performing as a trio.  If you need a virtuosic acoustic fix, gorgeously harmonized vocals, and a touch of contemporary edge/angst, you can’t go wrong with any Nickel Creek recordings.  Their covers of Radiohead, Britney Spears, The Beatles, Coldplay and Jackson 5 tunes are both playful and brilliant.
