StockTwits and Innovation
Anytime you detach the conversation from the context and provide a service to freely recontextualize viewpoints in realtime, there is power. The root of this power is not owning the destination, but owning the context filters and keeping the open idea chain going. Stocktwits will have arrived when other services are built upon its ability to not only identify and aggregate around tickers, but add and expose external value around these conversations. Extend the API chain and keep the party going. Inject the necessary uncertainty at the edge to allow the innovation stack to flourish. Connective tissue wins. It’s the vertical platform stupid, and Roger knows this only too well.
