A gem from 1987.  The original scratchy demo version of “Raw” by Big Daddy Kane featuring Kool G Rap was an end-to-end burner, no hooks, no filler, and proved that the two were contemporaries and equivalently talented.  The original 12” removed the Kool G Rap verse but producer Marley Marl added the horns and the famous “I’m comin” cuts.  Unfortunately, they totally reproduced and rerecorded the album version for Long Live The Kane which was twice removed from being all that “Raw” in my opinion.
