Delouie Avant “Hard Times”. Every once in a while, I’ll post a song I’ve performed on with a little history. I co-produced the track with all-star producer/entrepreneur/futurist Mark Hines and tracked all the guitars. Back in 1999, we were asked to do a remake of Curtis Mayfield’s “Hard Times” for the movie “The Hurricaine” staring Denzel Washington as boxer Rubin Carter. We nailed it, but they pulled it from the soundtrack for some truly forgettable music. It was a political thing, not a musical thing as the music supervisor who approached us was overruled. Needless to say, we were bummed.
