Chris is crushing it on his blog right now.

gbattle sez:
NDA’s and Confidentiality Agreements are exactly what they appear to be. Texbook lawyer busywork to book billable hours at the expense of an entrepreneur’s inexperience. Chris’ Aug 22nd post explains why the smart entrepreneur does the exact opposite, sharing his idea with anyone who will listen. If the only defensible position for your idea is a sheet of paper with a signature (as opposed to experience, skill, tangible IP, access to resources, relationships, etc.), your business has much larger problems than disclosure.
And yes, Chris is on a tear lately with the pearls of wisdom. However, it is the above wisdom that he himself did not adhere to with regards to Hunch.com, an idea he sheltered from everyone for the longest time. Time will tell if this strategy worked against his own advice as they would have been well ahead of Bing’s $300mm decision engine marketing coup and the enigmatic Wolfram | Alpha’s lovefest whose utility has yet to be revealed to me. I wish my Hunch friend’s only the best.
