Kirk Franklin - “The Declaration (This Is It)” - Fight of My Life. Other than Kirk Franklin sounding like The Game doing ad libs, this track has some Kenny Loggins-meets-gospel chorus-meets-hip-hop-meets-Tower of Power Horns-meets-funky strings brilliance.  All praise due (to a guy who can’t sing or MC but has energy for days).  For a peek into just how deep the musicianship in gospel music has become, do a YouTube search on “gospel drums” and witness some of the most impossible grooves out there today.
