Lindsay Mac - “Stop Thinking” - Stop Thinking. My friend Dan Pike sent me this great CD last week by singer-songwriter/cellist Lindsay Mac.  There are a ton of fresh ideas on here and her cello - whether bowed, plucked or strummed - adds a thick yet nimble texture underneath her singing.  Unlike many in her genre, she has no fear of recording short songs that capture the moment and end before they sag under their own weight. I’m digging the vox/big fiddle work of Lindsay and Esperanza Spalding in folk and jazz respectively. Also check out L-Mac’s cover of The Beatles “Blackbird”.
